In the good old tradition of Make Do and Mend, I invite you to select fragments from vintage linens, and to reconstruct a new fabric collage around them. The aim here is not to restore or repair, but to revitalise, to breathe new life into old hand work. We can recognise the inherent history while transforming the piece by adding our own stitch marks and embellishments. I have a great variety of old linens and laces which I will bring to the class. You can bring along your favourite old treasures to add to the mix table linens, handkerchiefs, bits of lace, flowery fabric, anything of your Grannys era.
